Friday’s Fly “The Fire Storm”

Published by flyfishfanatic at 5:00 am under Fly Tying, General

Recipe;

-Hook, 34011 Size 4 (Mustad)

-Thread, 3/0 Black

-Tail, Golden Pheasant

-Body, Black UV Ice Dubbing

-Hackle, Black Cock Hackle

-Collar, Fire Red Schallapen

-Over Collar, Guiena Fowl (Red Large Dot)

Tie in your thread and form a small thread ball where you tie in the tail to help it sit more upright

Tie in your hackle, due the body with the UV Dubbing making sure to leave room at the head

Palmer your hackle up to where you stopped with the Dubbing.

Tie in your Schlappan and wrap it around to form a collar making sure to stroke back the fibers every turn

Tie in the Guina hackle, wrap 2-3 turn making sure to stroke back fibers every turn.

Whip Finnish the fly, add head cement and you are done. This is a Great Winter pattern for Steelhead, and I have caught quite a few Coho Salmon on this fly as well.

Fun Tying
